The ‘Barrel Selection’ line from the Salentein winery comprises pure varietal wines whose vines grow in vineyards situated between 1050 and 1700 metres above sea level, irrigated by the clean meltwater from the Andes mountains. The stony soils protect the vines from excessively cool temperatures at night. During the day, the hot climate and lots of sunshine form the ideal basis to create wines that wonderfully reflect the characteristics of the terroir of the Uco Valley. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay vines as well as the pure varietal Malbec are cultivated here.

The Salentein Barrel Selection Malbec is an intense, slightly purplish red in colour. It is complex on the nose, offering an abundance of red fruit and black berries as well as light floral notes. Each sip softly caresses the palate with lots of fruit and a delicate sweetness. The finish is long and very smooth. This Malbec is fresh and fruity, with a lovely intensity.

We recommend drinking it at a temperature of 16 °C (60.8 °F). The wine goes beautifully with grilled dishes, beef, lamb or cheeses. It is also a perfect accompaniment to game.

Salentein Barrel Selection Cabernet Sauvignon

Since its founding in 1995, Bodegas Salentein has spared no effort to become one of the premium wineries in Argentina. The winery succeeded in recruiting star oenologist José Galante, and invested millions in the construction of the wine cellar that was built underground in the shape of a cross and equipped with the latest technology. The Salentein Barrel Selection Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the most outstanding results of these efforts. It is a pure varietal Cabernet Sauvignon that matured for 12 months in French oak casks before it was bottled. It is a striking, intensely dark red – almost black - in the glass, offering the classic Cabernet Sauvignon aromas of currants, pepper and vanilla. It is fleshy on the palate, showing a very elegant structure and fine, soft, well-integrated tannins. The finish is long and voluminous. Those who prefer typical Cabernet Sauvignon wines will be delighted by this Salentein Barrel Selection. It is best served at a temperature of 16-18 °C (60.8-64.4 °F) and goes beautifully with lamb, game and mildly seasoned red meat. It is also an ideal accompaniment to hard cheeses. Finca Las Moras Los Intocables Black Malbec

Der Finca las Moras Los Intocables Black ist in jeder Hinsicht außergewöhnlich. Schon die Namensgebung lässt vermuten, dass hier etwas Neues, Innovatives auf den Weingenießer zukommt. Der Name ist angelehnt an die FBI Agenten aus den 1930er Jahren, die gegen den Alkoholhandel Al Capones kämpften, bekannt als die „Unbestechlichen“. Ungewöhnlich ist auf jeden Fall die 12-monatige Reifung des Weins in gebrauchten Eichenfässern, in denen vorher berühmte amerikanische Bourbon-Whiskeys lagerten. Das Resultat ist ein unheimlich runder, feingliedriger Wein.Die Trauben, zu 100% Malbec, stammen aus speziell ausgesuchten Weinbergslagen, die vornehmlich sandige, mit Lehm durchsetzte Böden aufweisen. Ein geringer Traubenertrag und die Reifung in den Whiskey Fässern geben dem Los Intocables Black Malbec eine sehr dunkle, fast schwarze Farbe. Der Wein hat einen vollen Körper und sorgt am Gaumen für vielschichtige Eindrücke. Es finden sich sowohl Noten von Blaubeere und Pflaume als auch Aromen von Schokolade, Karamell und Vanille. Clos de los Siete

The Clos de los Siete has an enticing nose offering intense notes of ripe fruit such as bilberries, cassis and raspberries, complemented by nuances of pepper, roast aromas, hints of sweet liquorice and a fine spice.
