Der Bodegas Mas Alta Cirerets ist eine Assemblage aus 60% Grenache und 40% Carignan. 95 Punkte in Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate sprechen eine deutliche Sprache: Der Rotwein aus dem Priorat, dem von Schieferböden geprägten Anbaugebiet im Nordwesten Spaniens, ist eine herausragende Kreation.  „I just love the elegance and harmony of the Cirerets”, schreibt Weinkritiker Luis Gutiérrez im Wine Advocate.

Der spanische Rotwein duftet herrlich intensiv fruchtig nach Kirschen und Blaubeeren. Hinzu kommen Noten von mediterranen Kräutern (Rosmarin, Thymian) und eine prägende mineralische Komponente. Am Gaumen „kraftvoll, aber zugleich elegant und harmonisch, mit einer weichen Textur, glatten Tanninen und sehr reinen und durchdringenden Aromen. Wirklich lecker und hedonistisch“, formuliert Gutiérrez. Die Aromendichte ist eindrucksvoll: Aromen von dunklen Früchten (Schwarze Johannisbeeren) im Zusammenspiel mit einer schönen Würze (Wacholder).

The highly talented French winemakers Philippe Cambie and Michel Tardieu, who are behind Els Pics Priorat, have created a cuvée that leaves little to be desired. 91 points from Guía Peñín, Spain's most important wine guide, and 90 points in Robert Parker's Wine Advocate speak for themselves.The Spanish red wine from the slate-dominated Priorat region has a seductive aroma of red (raspberries) and, over time, increasingly black berries and figs. This bouquet is enriched by a pleasant spiciness (Mediterranean herbs) and nuances of cocoa and buttered toast. There is also a minerality characterized by slate.On the palate, the impenetrable ruby red Bodegas Mas Alta Els Pics is dry and balanced with an impressive emphasis on fruit. Ripe cherries, nuances of vanilla and the wonderfully integrated wood notes create an enjoyable interplay that is perfectly rounded off by an underlying minerality. This red wine impresses with its aromatic depth, elegance and freshness - a real flagship for Piedmont and the potential of Nebbiolo outside of Barolo.The grapes come from young vineyards in both main geological zones of the Barolo region. The calcareous soils of the Tortonian and Serravalli formations provide structure, fruit and mineral clarity. Viticulture is organic, with a focus on sustainability, biodiversity and a lot of manual work.The grapes are harvested in October in the early hours of the morning. A maceration period of up to 26 days and subsequent ageing in stainless steel tanks for around six months preserve freshness and varietal typicity.The wine is a bright garnet red in the glass. Floral and fruity notes of roses, raspberries and mineral accents on the nose. Juicy and precise on the palate with aromas of cherry, sour cherry, wild strawberry and fine spice. Fresh acidity and silky tannins ensure a harmonious mouthfeel.This elegant Nebbiolo is an excellent accompaniment to tagliatelle with ragout, mushroom dishes, grilled lamb or mature cheese.
