Saint Clair Pioneer Block 20 "Cash Block" Sauvignon Blanc
The Saint Clair Pioneer Block 20 "Cash Block" Sauvignon Blanc comes from the lower Wairau Valley in Marlborough, a former river plain with deep, fertile and well-drained soils. The shallow location and the maritime, slightly cooler climate with a prolonged ripening process ensure a slow development of aromas and a pronounced freshness. The healthy foliage and the rows of vines, which deviate slightly from the classic north-south orientation, also contribute to the characteristic aromas of this single-vineyard wine. The grapes come mainly from a single vineyard and are carefully monitored and harvested in the cool evening hours at optimum ripeness. The must is pressed immediately after harvesting to minimize contact with the skins and preserve freshness. After clarification, fermentation takes place with selected yeasts at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks. Due to its power, intensity and balance, this wine is selected as part of the Pioneer Block series. On the nose, the wine displays intense aromas of ripe gooseberry and crushed herbs, complemented by subtle notes of sea shells. On the palate, it is fresh yet full-bodied with aromas of gooseberry, grapefruit zest and a hint of oyster shell. A salty minerality leads to a long-lasting, refreshing finish. An excellent accompaniment to grilled fish with fresh green herbs.

Clos Henri Estate Sauvignon Blanc Organic
The Clos Henri Estate Sauvignon Blanc Organic is an expressive white wine from New Zealand that impressively reflects the terroir of the renowned Marlborough wine region. This organic wine comes exclusively from Clos Henri Estate's own vineyards located in the Wairau Valley - a sub-region known for its cool climate and mineral-rich soils. The grapes for this Sauvignon Blanc are cultivated in high planting density on three different soil types: clayey Wither and Broadbridge subsoil as well as barren Greywacke stones. This special soil diversity - created by two prehistoric glacial movements - gives the wine its multi-layered structure and elegant minerality. Organic cultivation, dry farming and selective harvesting produce a wine typical of the grape variety with a clear expression of the terroir. After gentle pressing and separation of the must, it is fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. The wine then matures for three months on the fine lees - with regular batonnage - to develop additional complexity and structure. The result is a fresh, textured Sauvignon Blanc with excellent ageing potential of five to eight years. In the glass, the Clos Henri Sauvignon Blanc shines in a light straw yellow. Intense aromas of lemon blossom, orange zest and fresh grapefruit unfold on the nose. On the palate, the wine is lively, clear and juicy - with precise acidity and a long, mineral finish. This Sauvignon Blanc is an ideal accompaniment to ceviche, tuna tataki, goat's cheese tart or fresh figs. Serve at 10-12 °C to bring out its delicate aromas to the full.
