The grapes come from vineyards planted in calcareous clay and gravel soils between 240 and 500 meters in the areas Ora, Tramin and Egna.The grapes were gently pressed immediately following harvest. Primary fermentation occurred in steel tanks, followed by partial malolactic fermentation.Tasting NotesChardonnay is popular and much-loved variety. The Catena Chardonnay combines the unique expressions of three high altitude vineyard sites. The La Piramide vineyard offers rich pineapple, passion fruit flavors and aromas with a touch of sweet honey with a rich mouthfeel. The Domingo vineyard lends notes of citrus fruit with floral notes and excellent acidity. The Adrianna vineyard contributes green apple, pear and fig flavors with a strong mineral component and vibrant acidity.The wine shows a light yellow color with marked greenish tones. In comparison to the vineyards situated further to the south, the grapes from the Casablanca Valley show slightly higher acidity, giving the Chardonnay a wonderful balance of aromas, alcohol and acidity.The Escudo Rojo Chardonnay is an ideal accompaniment to fish and seafood - grilled, roasted and with creamy sauces. Langmeil 'Orphan Bank' Shiraz

Der Langmeil Orphan Bank Shiraz ist einer der besten Rotweine von dem Weingut Langmeil. Dieser trockene Wein ist perfekt geeignet für Feinschmecker, die möglichst wenig Süße im Wein schmecken wollen. Im Bouquet des australischen Rotweines finden sich Noten von Brombeeren, Heidelbeeren und Pflaumen kombiniert mit Vanille, Bitterschokolade und Zimt. Im Glas zeigt der besondere Wein eine leicht dunkle rote Farbe. Wenn er erstmal am Gaumen angelangt ist, entfaltet dieser Wein seine fruchtige Seite. Im Abgang wirkt dieser Shiraz würzig.Die Herkunft des Weines liegt in Australien, in der Region Barossa. Dort werden die Reben per Hand ausgelesen und sofort gepresst.Der Langmeil Orphan Bank Shiraz ist ein reinsortiger Shiraz, der sich am besten mit Gemüse oder Rinderfrikadellen essen lässt.
