This pure varietal Nero d’Avola from Sicily has an intense nose offering notes of black berries, along with lovely nuances of pomegranate and wild strawberries. On the palate, this ruby-red wine is soft and velvety, with nicely integrated tannins and a slightly sweet finish.The winery fertilizes the vines for the Baglio Gibellina Sogno del Sud Nero d’Avola only with organic compounds. The grapes come from hilly vineyards with clay soils, situated 300 to 600 metres above sea level. The red wine was aged for 12 to 18 months in stainless steel tanks.This very fruity, accessible Nero d’Avola is an ideal accompaniment to risotto, pasta dishes, red meat, lamb and various aromatic cheeses.
