Gérard Bertrand Gris Blanc Rosé IGP

The Gris Blanc IGP Pays d'Oc from Gérard Bertrand is an exceptionally elegant rosé wine from the south of France.

With its unmistakable light color, it has established itself as a modern classic among rosés from the Languedoc. The Gérard Bertrand winery is one of the leading producers in the south of France and stands for high-quality wines that authentically reflect the Mediterranean terroir. The Grenache grape variety comes from the sun-drenched vineyards around Tautavel between the Mediterranean and the Pyrenees and gives this rosé its fresh and elegant character.

In the glass, the Gris Blanc is a very light shade of rosé with silvery reflections. The bouquet is characterized by aromas of red berries. On the palate, the wine is lively and light, with fine fruit, fresh minerality and a harmonious, elegant finish.

The hand-picked Grenache grapes are pressed directly and fermented at controlled temperatures. The subsequent maturation on the fine lees gives the wine additional finesse and balance.

Serve the Gérard Bertrand Gris Blanc at 10 to 12 °C as an aperitif or with Mediterranean salads, fish dishes, seafood, Asian cuisine and spicy dishes such as Thai curry or tajines.

Gerard Bertrand Domaine de l'Aigle Limoux Chardonnay AOC
The Gerard Bertrand Domaine de l'Aigle Limoux Chardonnay AOC is a top-quality Chardonnay from the Limoux AOP in Languedoc-Roussillon. Gerard Bertrand's vineyard has one of the highest vineyards in the region and has been cultivated biodynamically with Demeter certification since 2018.The vineyard is densely planted with around 5000 to 6000 vines. The Chardonnay grapes are harvested by hand as soon as they have reached full ripeness. In any case, the work here is as gentle as possible and follows the winery's natural approach. The wine is left to mature on the lees, which emphasizes the finesse and wonderful fruit of this Chardonnay. The Gerard Bertrand Domaine de l'Aigle Limoux Chardonnay AOC matures in oak barrels, but is not dominated by the barrel.A golden-green robe with silver-grey reflections plays around the eye. The nose is perfectly expressive, with fruity notes of white peach, followed by aromas of marzipan, pastries and cookies. The palate is fresh, mineral, light and supple, with a minty finish.A round, seductive white wine, suitable for roast poultry, fish dishes, seafood and many cheese variations, such as hard cheese, goat's cheese or cheese pâtés.Anyone looking for an individualist Chardonnay, vinified extremely cleanly and produced using the best biodynamic approach, will find the perfect wine enjoyment in Gerard Bertrand Domaine de l'Aigle Limoux Chardonnay AOC.

Clos Saint Jean Les Calades IGP
Les Calades is a red wine from the well-known Clos Saint Jean winery, the producer of outstanding Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines from France. Although this wine is not officially called Châteauneuf-du-Pape, it is an exceptionally high-quality red wine that the Maurel family, now the fifth generation to own Clos Saint Jean, produces with the same dedication and commitment as its larger wine brothers. The grapes for Les Calades are harvested by hand and during the harvest period, the grapes are tested daily to ensure that they are at the right ripeness so that the best time for harvesting can be chosen. Careful work is carried out in the cellar, e.g. using pneumatic presses to protect the grapes. Les Calades is matured in concrete tanks for nine months. As with the other wines from Clos Saint Jean, this cuvée, which consists of 70% Grenache and 30% Caladoc, is bottled according to the lunar calendar. This spicy, fragrant Châteauneuf-du-Pape impresses with plenty of dark fruit, with notes of currants, cherries, blackberries and plums. Overall, the ripe fruit bouquet is in the foreground here, as aromas of strawberry and some raspberry follow, with further hints of forest scents, licorice, mocha and mint. The palate offers a harmonious overall impression of good acidity, beautifully polished and well-integrated tannins and a lovely finish.A sophisticated red wine that goes well with many Mediterranean dishes, but also with somewhat heartier and spicier dishes such as pasta, game, braised meat or goulash.

Francis Ford Coppola Director's Cut Cabernet Sauvignon
The Francis Ford Coppola Director's Cut Cabernet Sauvignon is an outstanding - or the Americans would say "outstanding" - wine from the Sonoma Valley. The director created "very big Hollywood" with this grape juice, with small amounts of Petit Verdot and Merlot Cabernet Franc, among others, also playing a part as extras.Coppola places particular emphasis on the subtleties here, as befits a director's cut. Particularly gentle fermentation, 15 months of ageing in French and American oak barrels and precise selection of the grapes according to the respective plots are the special effects used here by Coppola and his oenologist Cory Beck. The result is a powerful epic, with blackcurrants, cigar box, plums and black cherries on the nose. The opulent and full-bodied palate shows plenty of red and black berry fruit, tobacco, leather and vanilla. The finish is long-lasting and worthy of an exciting showdown.Overall, this dry red wine from the USA is a well-rounded, fruity wine with plenty of complexity, making it ideal as a solo wine. It benefits from 1 to 2 hours of decanting and will remain at the peak of drinking maturity for several years.Try this wine with pâtés, game, lamb, steak or blue cheese.
