The Blason d'Aussières Corbières comes from the traditional Château d'Aussières wine estate, which is located in the heart of the renowned Corbières wine region in the Languedoc. This vineyard belongs to the Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) and combines first-class terroir with centuries of winemaking expertise. The result is an elegant and complex red wine that carries the essence of the Mediterranean climate.

The cuvée is made from Syrah, Grenache Noir, Carignan and Mourvèdre - grape varieties known for their powerful fruit and spicy notes. The vineyards benefit from hot days and cool nights, allowing the grapes to ripen optimally while retaining their freshness. After careful manual harvesting, temperature-controlled fermentation takes place in order to extract the intense fruit aromas in the best possible way. Part of the wine is matured in French oak barrels, which gives it additional depth and a fine, elegant structure.

In the glass, the Blason d'Aussières Corbières is a deep ruby red with violet reflections. The bouquet is characterized by ripe dark fruits such as blackcurrants, cherries and plums, accompanied by fine spicy nuances reminiscent of laurel, black pepper and tobacco. On the palate, the wine unfolds with a pleasant fullness and supple tannins. The fruit flavors are accompanied by a subtle mineral note that gives it an elegant freshness. The finish is long and harmonious, with a fine balance between fruit, spice and subtle toasted aromas.

This characterful red wine is an excellent accompaniment to Mediterranean dishes such as grilled lamb with rosemary, a hearty ratatouille or braised game dishes. It also unfolds its full potential with a selection of mature cheeses or a classic French cassoulet. To enjoy the full spectrum of aromas, Blason d'Aussières Corbières should be served at a temperature of 16 to 18 °C.

Baron Eric de Rothschild war begeistert. „Wegen seiner ungewöhnlichen geografischen Lage, der hervorragenden Weinberge und seiner bewegten Geschichte strahlt der Ort große Kraft und Schönheit aus“, soll er gesagt haben und in der Tat ist das Weingut Château d'Aussières in der französischen Region Languedoc-Roussillon ein besonderes Weingut.

Es ist eines der ältesten Güter im Languedoc und der Weinbau in Aussières geht auf die Römerzeit zurück. Seinerzeit wurden die großen Güter der Provinz Narbonensis in die sogenannte „römische Weinbergrolle“ eingetragen und zählten zu den wichtigsten Lieferanten Roms. In den mittelalterlichen Zeiten tat sich die Kirche für die Bewahrung des Weinbergs hervor. Aussières war 800 Jahre Klostergut. Das Gut diente als landwirtschaftlicher Betrieb zur Versorgung des Klosters, in dem der Weinanbau natürlich nicht ganz fehlen durfte.

Graf Daru, späterer Minister und Verwalter der Privatgüter Napoléon Bonapartes, ersteigerte 1790 das Gut Aussières und belebte enorm den Weinanbau, in dem er 80 Hektar neu bepflanzen ließ. Die große Reblausplage machte auch vor dem Château d'Aussières nicht halt und so durchlebte der Ort sehr wechselhafte Jahrzehnte. Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts bewirtschaftete man in Aussières 270 Hektar Rebflächen.

1999 schließlich wurde das Château d'Aussières von den Domaines Barons de Rothshild (Lafite) aufgekauft. Es wurde von Grund auf saniert und besitzt seitdem um die 550 Hektar Rebfläche. Neben zwei Drittel bestückter Weinberge (als AOC Corbières klassifiziert) mit den Rebsorten Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache, Carignan, Cinsault setzt man beim restlichen Drittel auf Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc und Petit Verdot.

Das Weingut wird geleitet von Olivier Trégoat im Team mit Winzermeister Aymeric Izard.
