The designation "<CL" stands for "Cool Climate" and refers to the special microclimate of the Banghoek Valley. Here, cool mountain winds and mineral-rich soils ensure that the grapes ripen slowly, giving the wine elegance, depth and a remarkable freshness.The cuvée consists of a harmonious selection of classic grape varieties, which are matured in French oak barrels over a period of 16 months. In the glass, the <CL Red Blend is a beautiful dark purple. The bouquet reveals ripe black plum and black cherries, accompanied by subtle notes of rosemary and fennel. On the palate, it impresses with soft tannins, notes of dark chocolate and mocha. Das Weingut Oldenburg liegt im malerischen Banghoek Valley in Stellenbosch, Südafrika.Im Glas zeigt sich der Oldenburg Vineyards Merlot in einem tiefen Rubinrot und entfaltet ein reiches Bouquet von Kiefernwald, mazerierten Beeren, Jasmin und grünen Pfefferkörnern. Der Wein reifte 18 Monate lang in 300-Liter-Fässern aus französischer Eiche, davon 14 % neues Eichenholz, was ihm zusätzliche Tiefe und Komplexität verleiht. The Oldenburg Vineyards Rhodium is a noble Bordeaux cuvee from the esteemed South African wine region of Stellenbosch. Named after the rare precious metal, this wine stands for precision, elegance and exceptional quality. Oldenburg Vineyards uses the unique terroir around the striking Rondekop hill to produce wines of impressive depth and finesse.The cuvee is based on Merlot and Cabernet Franc, supplemented by a 10% share of Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes come from high-altitude, well-ventilated vineyards, which allow for slow ripening and thus ensure concentrated aromas. After careful manual harvesting, temperature-controlled fermentation takes place to preserve the fine fruit. The wine then matures for 18 months in French oak barrels, a large proportion of which are new. This gives it an impressive structure and elegant spiciness.In the glass, the Oldenburg Vineyards Rhodium is a bright ruby red with purple reflections. The nose reveals a multi-layered bouquet of fruity, herbal and floral notes, accompanied by hints of cranberry, sage and thyme as well as lavender, fresh rose petals and a core of black cherries. On the palate, it is harmonious with silky tannins, a softness and elegance that is breathtakingly lively. The Oldenburg Vineyards Rondekop Per Se Cabernet Sauvignon is an outstanding red wine from the esteemed Stellenbosch wine region in South Africa. Oldenburg Vineyards is located in a unique microclimate characterized by cool mountain winds and mineral-rich soils. The "Rondekop" line, named after the prominent hill in the center of the vineyard, stands for wines with exceptional terroir character and impressive depth.The vines for this Cabernet Sauvignon grow on high, stony soils, which promote slow ripening of the grapes and ensure outstanding concentration. After selective hand-picking, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve the freshness of the fruit. The wine then matures for at least 18 months in French oak barrels, with a third of new barrels being used to give it additional structure, fine spice and elegance.In the glass, the Rondekop Per Se Cabernet Sauvignon presents itself in a deep ruby red with violet reflections. The nose is dominated by strong aromas of black plums and juniper berries, followed by licorice. On the palate, this Cabernet surprises with the finesse and elegance of structured yet chalky tannins and a lively acidity. Aromas of cardamom, lavender and laurel lend the wine spicy notes.
