Da der Ercole Gagliano Grappa di Brunello di Montalcino nach der Destillation für 18 Monate in Eichenfässern reifte, handelt es sich um einem Riserva. Durch die Eichenholzlagerung werden die rauen Tannine homogenisiert und der aromatische Grappa erhält die schöne bernsteinbraune Farbe. Am Gaumen ist der kostbare Tresterbrand weich und rund. Grappa darf nur in Italien produziert werden. Jeder Grappa basiert auf Traubenrückständen, die nach Auspressen des Traubensaftes zurückbleiben.
