Constantia Uitsig Red Horizon

Pale silver-pink. Aromas of raspberries, cherries and a few secondary whiffs of minerality. A lively mousse but fine in the mouth, with subtle red berry flavours enlivened by bright acidity. Brisk, yet delicate on the palate, bursting with flavours of freshly crushed berries and hints of oyster shell. Flirtatious and fun, yet elegant and structured, it’s perfect for all seasons and settings.

Trizanne Signature Wines Reserve Syrah
Elim is not one of the best-known regions in South Africa, but this does not mean that first-class wines are not produced there. Trizanne Barnard has intensively sought out good vineyards and grapes precisely in this area. This may be due to her close connection with nature, and can wonderfully balance the strenuous work of making wines by surfing on the coast, which is directly on her doorstep here. The temperatures in Elim are cooler than in most other regions in South Africa, and are responsible for the TSW Reserve Syrah’s marvellous elegance. The soils in the Elim region are characterised by slate and pebbles, giving the wine its outstanding minerality. The grapes for this wine were fermented in open casks with natural yeast. Subsequently, the TSW Reserve Syrah matured for 12 months in second-fill barriques. The wine has a wonderful bouquet offering fragrances of wild strawberries, lingonberries, pomegranate and dried rose petals. On the palate, the red wine shows a medium body and a crisp acidity typical of a Shiraz like this. The taste is pleasantly salty and spicy. This perfectly sophisticated and beautifully balanced Shiraz shows a persistent power, leading to a precise and richly nuanced finish.

Tenuta di Nozzole Chianti Classico DOCG
Chianti denotes Italian red wine from Tuscany, which was once traditionally sold in bottles encased in woven straw baskets known as “fiaschi.” Today, the Chianti Classico DOCG is one of the two most important red wines produced in Italy and its excellent quality has eclipsed the straw-covered bottle of yesteryear. The Tenuta di Nozzole estate vinifies the famous red wine from 100% Sangiovese grapes. The Tenuta di Nozzole Chianti Classico DOCG is macerated for 15 days in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28°C. The wine is regularly pumped over during the period. The Chianti is aged for 10-12 months in toasted 225-liter French oak barrels and, after bottling, aged in the bottle for another three months. The result is an excellent wine that has a surprising sweet, soft fruitiness, complemented by notes of spice that caress the palate. We recommend drinking the Chianti at a temperature of 16-18°C with roasted and braised red meats or as a dessert accompaniment to aged hard cheeses.Gambero Rosso awards three glasses to this dry red wine from 2019 and rates it as one of the best wines from Tuscany.
