Es ist nur ein kleiner Block, der dicht bepflanzt wurde und im wesentlich auf Lehm gründet. Zur Gärung und Reifung über 24 Monate wurden französische Eichenfässer verwendet. Der Cape of Good Hope Parel Vallei Farmstead Merlot kommt nach weiteren 24 Monate auf der Flasche auf den Markt. Die Nase verführt mit Düften von Pflaume, Kirsche, Maulbeeren und exotischen Gewürzen. Dazu Minze und ein Hauch Kakaopulver. Am Gaumen ist der Rotwein wunderbar fruchtig, weich und ausgewogen. Er besticht durch seine Saftigkeit und Spritzigkeit mit viel roter und schwarzer Frucht. Ein lebhafter, saftiger Merlot, der durch Zugänglichkeit, enorme Tiefe und Kraft überzeugt. Dabei sind die Tannine ausgezeichnet integriert und unterstützen die Komplexität bis zum langen Abgang.

Der Cape of Good Hope Parel Vallei Farmstead Merlot begleitet kräftiges Essen ganz hervorragend. Auch für die asiatische Küche geeignet.

Die Familie Basson gibt dem Wein ihren Namen. Auf dessen Farm werden die Reben gepflegt und bearbeitet. Nach dem Vergären in offenen Edelstahltanks wird der Wein für 14 Monate in Fässern aus französischer Eiche der 2. und 3. Füllung und dann für weitere 24 Monate in der Flasche gereift. Der Cape of Good Hope Basson Pinotage duftet nach einer Gewürzmischung und dunkler Pflaume mit einem Hauch von Leder. Den Gaumen umgeben interessante Aromen von Gewürznelken und pikanten Rauchnoten. Dieser Rotwein ist herrlich weich und mit sanften Tanninen ausgestattet. The grapes for the Protea Shiraz come from vineyards located in the Darling region in South Africa where the soils consist mainly of sand and clay. These soils provide ideal growth conditions for the Shiraz grapes. The wine is an intense dark red in colour.
