Niepoort Fabelhaft Tinto DOC
Notes of black cherries and blossoms as well as balsamic nuances and a lovely spice characterise the bouquet of the Niepoort Fabelhaft Tinto. This blend, consisting of local grape varieties such as Tinta Amarela, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Francesa and Touriga Nacional, is wonderfully fresh and vivid on the palate, showing a great balance, elegance, lots of fruit, balanced acidity and ripe, slightly sweet tannins. One fifth of the red wine matured for 12 months in used barriques made of French oak. This is an ideal starter wine to get to know the red wines from the Niepoort estate. It is a good accompaniment to vegetable casseroles, rabbit, lamb, veal, ham, tapas or medium-aged cheeses. The Niepoort Fabelhaft Tinto also goes beautifully with pasta with dark sauces or a vegetarian pizza. The label depicts a scene from Wilhelm Busch’s renowned picture story ‘Hans Huckebein der Unglücksrabe’ (Hans Huckebein - The Unlucky Raven).
