Deep, intense garnet colour with reddish reflexes. Clear and brilliant colour.
Very intense aromas of red fruits with undertones of toasted sour cherry.
Very ample in the mouth, with great body and structure, the palate is fresh and very elegant.

Malolactic fermentation took place in barrels (including new and one fill barrels) and 6,200 litre casks, both of French oak. Ageing in wood lasted 20 months.

Serve with richly flavoured dishes, game, and roasted cod. It pairs quite well with soft and pasty sheep’s milk cheeses.

Bright grenadine in colour with shades of violet.Mature aroma of forest fruit, blackberries, cherries, figs and cistus, with a floral hint. Smooth and fresh on the palate, with the length and expressive aromas characteristic of an Upper Douro wine.Handpicked grapes in 150-kilo crates, pressed, destalked and then fermented in steel vats at a temperature of no more than 25º. Maceration continues for long enough to produce a wine with the desired body and structure. Following malolactic fermentation in vats, 20% of the wine is aged in French oak barrels and the rest remains in the steel vats. The wine is bottled 18 months later.Excellent as an aperitif, it goes very well with soups, starters and salads. San Marzano Sessantanni Primitivo di Manduria DOP

Production area: Selected vineyards of Neviera and Casa Rossa, located in San Marzano district. The soil is mainly “terra rossa”, with a fine texture and generally a calcareous undergound with a few emerging rocks. The well-known redness of these soils is due to the presence of iron oxides. The climate is characterised by high temperatures all year round, very few rainfalls and a wide difference of temperature between night and day, which has a nice influence on the quality of grapes. This is the “classical” central area of d.o.c. ”Primitivo di Manduria” Harvest period: Third decade of August, first decade of September Vinification: Hand-harvested in small baskets.
