Dr. Bürklin Wolf Wachenheimer Altenburg Riesling P.C.

This Premier Cru from the Palatinate Dr. Bürklin-Wolf estate is redolent of fresh grapefruit and pineapple that harmonize perfectly with a fine spiciness. The high-quality Riesling is elegant and creamy on the palate, with a fresh minerality and a well-balanced structure.

The Dr. Bürklin-Wolf Wachenheimer Altenburg Riesling P.C. was aged in 2,400-litre wooden casks. A cool, late harvest provided ripe acidity as well as rich, impressive fruit and minerality.

This wine from the centuries-old estate in Wachenheim an der Weinstrasse is sheer pleasure. For several years, Dr. Bürklin-Wolf has consistently been producing wines biodynamically, setting standards particularly for the creation of natural, authentic Riesling wines.

Neiss Burgweg Riesling trocken
Burgweg is a single vineyard owned by the Neiss winery in the Northern Palatinate region. Due to the excellent microclimate, the Riesling grape variety is cultivated here. An old quarry protects this vineyard, which is characterised by the elevation’s exposure to wind and soils with high limestone content. This limestone is able to store the warmth of the day for a long time.On the nose, the wine is wonderfully fresh and stimulating, with a mild hint of yeast. On the palate, the Neiss Burgweg Riesling offers aromas of juicy raisins and noticeable grape flavours, complemented by notes of sweet honey and a salty minerality. It is full-bodied and powerful, showing a high intensity. The wonderfully balanced acidity leads to a prolonged finish. The wine initially matured for one year in the bottle before being put on the market.During the international ‘Best of Riesling’ competition in 2019 under the patronage of Rhineland-Palatinate’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Viticulture, the Neiss Burgweg Riesling was awarded the first prize in Category IV - ‘Dry Riesling wines from named individual vineyard sites’.Enjoy the Neiss Burgweg Riesling with fresh salads. It is also lovely on its own for any occasion. Simply a great Riesling!

This white wine from the Palatinate is clearly structured on the palate, with aromatic power and at the same time a playful finesse, carried by a beautiful fruit acidity. The finish has a slight bitter note, which comes from the citrus notes. The heart of the vineyard from which the Riesling originates lies directly next to a former limestone quarry.
