The renowned wine critic Jane Anson, awarding 92 points, likewise leaves no doubt that the Poggio Antico Rosso di Montalcino is a wonderful Sangiovese from the heart of Italy, writing of “fragrant floral aromas that make your mouth water before you even take a sip" and “soft tannins, fresh and mineral, delicious salinity, with great juiciness on the palate, unfussy and delicious." Anson writes of a brilliant vintage in the region, offering genuine treasures among the value-priced wines.
