Malavasi San Giacomo Lugana DOC

The renowned, internationally respected Italian wine critic Luca Maroni awards 94 points for the Malavasi San Giacomo Trebbiano Lugana. This white wine from the Malavasi family winery, located four kilometers from the southern shore of Lake Garda, is a feast for the senses in every respect.

In the glass, the pure Trebbiano di Lugana shines straw yellow with green reflections. The bouquet is wonderfully intense and fruity. It includes notes of white peach, apricots, ripe mirabelle plums and apples (Golden Delicious). There are also enriching notes of almond blossom, vanilla and jam as well as pleasant mineral tones.

On the palate, this Lugana is wonderfully fresh, dense and fruity. The aroma offers notes of citrus fruits, balsamic tones and a hint of marzipan. This intense aroma accompanies connoisseurs right through to the lingering finish.

20 percent of this white wine from Lombardy was matured for two months in barriques, the majority in stainless steel tanks. This gives the Malavasi San Giacomo Trebbiano Lugana its special complexity.&nbsp

Bulgarini '010' Lugana DOC
The Bulgarini 010 Lugana DOC is a particularly expressive interpretation of the indigenous Turbiana grape variety and comes from the morainic hills surrounding Pozzolengo, south of Lake Garda. Old vines, around 40 years old, and the characteristic soils of clay and fine gravel give this Lugana its impressive structure, finesse, and pronounced minerality. In the glass, the Lugana displays an intense straw-yellow color with golden highlights. The bouquet delights with aromas of peach and apricot, accompanied by exotic fruit notes, honey, and subtle hints of spice. On the palate, it is intense, mineral, and harmonious, with an elegant structure and a long, fruity finish. After temperature-controlled fermentation, part of the wine matures for six months in French oak tonneaux, while the remainder is aged on the fine lees in stainless steel tanks. This allows the Bulgarini 010 Lugana DOC to combine freshness and finesse with added complexity and depth. The Bulgarini 010 Lugana DOC pairs excellently with seafood, spicy poultry dishes, veal, and medium-aged cow’s milk or goat’s milk cheeses.
