The Malavasi Nero del Lago shimmers with an intense ruby red hue in the glass. This single-varietal Petit Verdot from the Lake Garda region offers connoisseurs a wonderfully complex bouquet that gradually unfolds. Notes of ripe cherries and plums, combined with hints of dried fruits such as dates and sultanas, create an enticing bouquet. A subtle spiciness and hints of violets round out the bouquet.
On the palate, this Italian red wine is fresh and velvety, with noticeably ripe tannins and fruit-forward aromas. Notes of blueberries and blackberries characterize the soft finish. The Malavasi Nero del Lago has a good texture and lovely fruit sweetness. The finish features subtle leather notes.
Legendary Italian wine critic Luca Maroni awards 94 points to this red wine from the Malavasi family winery. Enjoy this Petit Verdot, aged in stainless steel tanks, slightly chilled at 14 to 16 degrees.
