How do you make an excellent wine even better? For Mariano García Fernández, the founder of the Bodega Aalto estate, this can be achieved only by selecting the best grapes. The selection of the grapes was carried out parcel by parcel. This explains the wine’s ‘PS’ designation, which stands for ‘parcel’ and ‘selection’. Only the grapes from the best parcels with the oldest vines are selected to produce the Aalto PS. The grapes for this pure varietal Tempranillo come partly from vines that are more than 60 years old. The vines grow on soils with lime and slate subsoils, giving the wine a lovely mineral freshness. The wine is aged in steel tanks before it matures for 21 months in new French barriques. Subsequently, the wine is aged for another 6 months in used casks. The Aalto PS is a dark, dense purple in colour. Its bouquet is characterised by strong notes of wood and flavours of plums and black cherries. On the palate, the wine is extremely complex, concentrated and powerful. The body continues unabated in a never-ending finish. Although the wine is already quite balanced, further ageing in the bottle will certainly enhance its quality. Serve the Aalto PS with lamb, game or tangy cheeses. This wine is a genuine delight! It is also available in a magnum bottle.

It is 100% “Tinta del País”, aged for 16 months in French and American oak barrels.Dark, deep and intense in colour, with a cherry-red rim. On the nose, it is heady but elegant and pleasant, with plenty of ripe black fruit such as plum and blackberry. In addition, mineral hints and quality sweet spices combine with black chocolate, ripe fruit and plum kernel.On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, with a powerful and refreshing back taste of medicinal herbs and pine. Wer eine Flasche des Familia Fernández Rivera Tinto Pesquera Reserva öffnet, darf sich also auf einen exzellenten spanischen Rotwein freuen.Der tief rubinrote Tempranillo duftet herrlich facettenreich nach roten und dunkeln Früchten wie Pflaumen, Brombeeren, Kirschen und Granatäpfeln. Hinzu kommt eine eindrucksvoll vielfältige Würze. Noten von Lakritz, Zimt, Tabak sowie von Unterholz, Rosmarin und Zartbitterschokolade ergeben einen faszinierenden Duftstrauß. Der Guía Peñín erkennt im Bouquet auch Nuancen von Weihrauch.Am Gaumen ist der Familia Fernández Rivera Tinto Pesquera Reserva trocken und bemerkenswert samtig weich. Die prägenden Tannine sind meisterhaft eingebunden. Der Tempranillo besitzt viel Körper, Struktur und eine große Eleganz. Das Finale mit seiner fruchtbetonten, komplexen Aromentiefe klingt lange nach.Mindestens 14 Monate reifte der Pesquera Reserva in 225-Liter-Fässern aus amerikanischer Eiche. Servieren Sie den Wein bei einer Temperatur von 16 bis 18 Grad. Unsere Empfehlung: Dekantieren Sie den Tempranillo 30 Minuten vor dem Genuss. Er ist ein perfekter Begleiter zu einem hochwertigen Rinderfilet oder zu einem Lammbraten. Auch zu reifem Käse eine sehr gute Wahl.

There are quite a few people who claim that Aalto wines represent the best of Spanish viticulture in the Ribera del Duero region. Every year, the Aalto wines are once again compared to those produced by the Vega Sicilia estate, and the Aalto wines often win by a nose. The grapes come mainly from very old vines that are up to 80 years old.The pure varietal Tempranillo (in the Burgos and Valladolid region better known as Tinto Fino) is a cherry red in colour. The wine offers fine notes of spices on the nose, along with light flavours of well-integrated wood. On the palate, the Aalto is wonderfully fresh and dense. Notes of tobacco, coffee and subtle aromas of liquorice reveal the unique style so typical of this Aalto. Due to its soft and round character, the wine can already be enjoyed young. Owing to the soft, enclosing tannins and a good acidity, the Aalto will increase its complexity over the coming years. The ageing of the wine in half new and half used barrels ofAmerican and French oak ensures that it will store well in the bottle. Enjoy the Aalto with a lovely beef roast or simply on its own in front of the fireplace.

Der Macán ist ein reinsortiger Tempranillo aus der Rioja, der auch im Jahrgang 2018 ein Ausnahme-Rotwein ist.Das Bouquet des spanischen Rotweins ist faszinierend facettenreich. Es vereint Noten von Brombeeren und Pflaumen mit hintergründigen Düften von Lakritz, Tabak, Kaffee, Schokolade und Zimt. Florale Noten (Veilchen) sowie wunderbar harmonierendes Eichenholz runden den Duftstrauß ab. James Suckling vergibt für den Vega Sicilia Macán 2018 stolze 95 Punkte. Auch im Jahrgang 2019 ist der Alión der legendären Bodegas Vega Sicilia ein phänomenales Fest für die Sinne. Der spanische Kult-Rotwein wird von der internationalen Weinkritik einmal mehr mit Höchstnoten geadelt (zum Beispiel 94 Punkte im Wine Advocate, 95 Punkte von James Suckling). Und was soll man sagen: Wer das Glück hat, eine Flasche des Vega Sicilia Alión öffnen zu dürfen, wird schnell mit einstimmen in die Lobreden.Schon das Bouquet des reinsortigen Tempranillo (oder Tinto Fino, wie die Rebsorte in der Ribera del Duero-Region üblicherweise heißt) zieht unwiderstehlich in seinen Bann. Vielschichtige, intensive Noten von Brombeeren, Heidelbeeren, Kirschen und Granatapfel im wundervollen Zusammenspiel mit Noten von Kakao und Vanille. Nuancen von Veilchen und eine hintergründige Mineralität runden den Duftstrauß ab. Suckling formuliert zum Bouquet des Alión 2019: „Reife, dunkle Pflaumen und schwarze Kirschen mit Veilchen, Stein, Kaffee und Graphit. Auch feine Noten von Balsamico-Frucht und Kakaopulver.“Am Gaumen ist die herausragende Kreation von Vega Sicilia trocken und zugleich intensiv fruchtbetont, mit meisterhaft integrierten, dichten Tanninen. Sehr langer, konzentrierter Abgang, der viel Finesse und Ebenen zeigt.“Der undurchdringlich purpurrote Wein stammt von knapp 40 Jahre alten Rebstöcken. Etwa 15 Monate wurde der spanische Rotwein im Barrique ausgebaut. Die Bodegas y Viñedos Alión selbst empfiehlt, den Tempranillo bei einer Trinktemperatur von 18 Grad zu genießen. Er ist ein fantastischer Begleiter von hochwertigem Rinder- oder Lammfleisch. Auch zu Wildgerichten ideal. Der im Mai 2021 in Flaschen abgefüllte Alión 2019 hat ein Lagerungspotenzial von bis zu 20 Jahren.
