The wine has a cherry red color with violet reflections at the edges. The bouquet consists of black fruits, smoky and spicy notes, as well as roasted aromas resulting from barrel ageing. On the palate, the red wine is fleshy, ripe and round. Tannins are clearly perceptible but finely polished, giving the Spanish red wine a slight sweetness. The finish once again underlines the harmony between the fruit and the wood aromas. Beyerskloof and Pinotage are the perfect combination in South Africa. Anri Truter, owner and winemaker at Beyerskloof, has long been known as South Africa's Mister Pinotage. Few devote themselves to this grape variety with such dedication.The Beyerskloof Pinotage Reserve was aged for 14 months in French oak. 10% of the wine was matured in new barrels and the rest in second and third-fill barrels. This gives the red wine a fine cedar wood aroma. The color of the Beyerkloof Pinotage Reserve is deep red and the nose reveals complex aromas of blackberries and plums. The palate is wonderfully balanced and juicy with a fleshy note. Opulent and with a fine texture, this Pinotage shows the full range of the grape variety.
