The Ego Bodegas Marionette is a fine blend consisting of the Monastrell and Shiraz grape varieties. The red wine is redolent of red and black berries, along with subtle roast aromas and nuances of vanilla. On the palate, this wine from the wine-growing area of Jumilla, located in the Murcia region in south-eastern Spain, is velvety, vivid and fruity, with ripe, elegant tannins and a clear structure.

The Ego Bodegas Marionette was aged for 2 to 3 months in American oak casks. The red wine goes beautifully with grilled meat, grilled vegetables, hard cheeses or small, delicate starters.

Der El Ego Bodegas Goru DOP duftet intensiv nach reifen roten Früchten. Noten von Pflaumenkompott und Blaubeermuffins sowie feine Nuancen von Nussschokolade und dezentes Süßholz prägen das Bouquet. The Alceño Romeo Organic Monastrell is an organic wine from the Jumilla region in Spain. The Monastrell vines grow on barren stony soils with a high lime content, giving the wine its powerful aromas. The wine is an intense cherry red with purple glints in the glass. On the nose, it offers aromas of ripe red fruit, roasted spices and notes of smoke. The Romeo Organic Monastrell is extremely full-bodied and powerful on the palate.Due to the ageing in French and American oak casks, the tannins are always noticeable but wonderfully soft and elegant. The dry red wine is juicy and mature, showing a light sweetness. Hints of cinnamon support the structure all the way into the prolonged finish. Such a good wine for so little money is rare, indeed!Try this Spanish wine from Bodegas Alceño with aubergines stuffed with sheep’s milk cheese and balsamic vinegar, accompanied by tomato ragout. Chilled to 14-15 °C (57.2-59 °F), it also goes beautifully with well-seasoned grilled meat.The 2019 Alceño Romeo Organic Monastrell was awarded the ‘Grand Gold’ at the Mundus Vini Spring Tasting in 2021.

Matsu El Picaro

The Matsu El Picaro comes from the wine-growing region of Toro in northwestern Spain. This young wine is a pure varietal Tempranillo, which is known as Tinta de Toro in the Toro region. The grapes are biodynamically cultivated. The wine is an intense purple in the glass. Its bouquet is characterised by persistent aromas of black fruit such as blackberries or bilberries. The mineral notes are wonderfully fresh and complex, surrounded by a light sweetness. Fruit and fullness predominate on the palate as well, resulting from the ripe grapes. Despite its youth, the wine is extremely full-bodied and powerful, due to the ageing in French oak casks and the fact that aggressive filtering and clarification were deliberately avoided.The Matsu El Picaro is vegan and a marvellous delight to enjoy on its own but is also a good accompaniment to moderately hearty dishes.
