This chenin blanc is made from young vines of five years old, which are perfect for a delicious and refreshing dry wine, with lots of fruit.

Only when the stakes get older, the wines get more concentration. By keeping the proceeds low, the wine gets a really nice solid and mineral character. Like the other wines in this series he gets after a fermentation process at low temperature aged for a few months on the yeast cells, which makes it nicely rich and firm of character.

Die Trauben des Spier Signature Chardonnay aus der Region Western Cape in Südafrika werden früh morgens von Februar bis März per Hand geerntet. Nach der Handlese werden sie gepresst und in Edelstahltanks mit ausgewählten Hefestämmen fermentiert, wobei später nur die besten Tanks verwertet werden. Zudem wurde nur ein kleiner Teil in neuen französischen Eichenfässern ausgebaut, was für eine schöne Struktur und Komplexität des Weines sorgt.Der trockene Weißwein zeigt sich im Glas leicht strohgelb mit grünlichen Reflexen. Im Bouquet finden sich Noten von Grapefruit, Limette, gelbem Apfel, Banane, Birne und einen Hauch von Vanille wieder. Am Gaumen überzeugt der Spier Signature Chardonnay mit fruchtigen Noten, einem cremigen Mundgefühl und einem schönen Säurespiel mit großer Ausgewogenheit.Der reinsortige Chardonnay stammt von dem Weingut Spier und lässt sich am besten mit gebratenem Lachs in Zitronen-Butter-Soße oder Ente kombinieren und bei einer empfohlenen Trinktemperatur von 10 °C. genießen.

Of all the plantet grapes in South Africa, the shiraz, or syrah, as the French call him, is without a doubt one of the most successful. It has everything to do with the ideal climate of the Cape for this grape. Warm but not too hot, with a good cooling in the afternoon, which seems a bit like the Rhone region, where this wonderful grape originated. By a short fermentation process at low temperature it gets a strong character, with delicious fruit.
