Ninety-three per cent Semillon, 5 per cent Sauvignon Blanc and 2 per cent Muscadelle unite to create the Chateau Rieussec 2014. This wine has a lot to offer. Its fascinating, multi-layered bouquet offers aromas of honeydew melon, citrus fruit, wild flowers and candied fruit, along with harmoniously integrated notes of wood. René Gabriel writes about this wine, ‘The grapy bouquet offers notes of light sultanas, boiled nectarines and pectin, with a subliminal toughness.’ He awards it 18 out of 20 possible points.
Initially, the Chateau Rieussec 2014 is discreet on the palate. Subsequently, it shows a great fullness. In addition, the wine has a clear sweetness, a lovely acidity and a perfect balance as well. This is once again an outstanding Sauternes wine that is awarded an impressive 95-97 points by critic Neil Martin in Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate.
