La Bri's cuvée The Affinity is more than the sum of its parts: The wine is only produced at all if the individual grape varieties come together in perfect harmony - which is why entire vintages (2018 and 2019) were deliberately omitted. The result: a carefully composed, richly structured Bordeaux blend that reflects South African winemaking at the highest level.Cabernet Sauvignon dominates in this powerful yet polished blend, complemented by Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. The nose reveals intense aromas of ripe berries and fine mocha, while the palate is velvety smooth with fine-grained tannins and a fresh, supporting acid structure. A red wine of depth, complexity and remarkable balance.The four grape varieties were vinified separately and then matured for 18 months in French barriques, 10% of which were new. Only then were the barrels selected and the final cuvée made - a demanding, quality-oriented process that gives the wine its balance and finesse.Each La Bri cuvée is associated with a characteristic flower. In the Affinity Blend, the Geissorhiza radians - also known as the "wine calyx" - adorns the label. With the Double Door range, La Bri creates space for creative wines beyond rigid conventions - as is the case with this powerful, multi-layered red wine cuvée. The Double Door Red Blend combines 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 15% Petit Verdot and 6% Cabernet Franc to create a harmonious whole with structure, finesse and elegance.Only grapes from the estate were used for this wine. After fermentation, the individual batches matured for 24 months in used French barriques before being blended into a precisely balanced cuvée. The La Motte Millennium is a remarkable blend from the traditional La Motte Wine Estate in South Africa's Franschhoek Valley.It is intense on the nose, with aromas of cherry, mulberry and cinnamon. La Sirène de Giscours Margaux is the second wine from the world-famous Château Giscours in Margaux and consists of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. A wonderful Margaux seducer that has benefited from 30% new barrels during maturation.A dark garnet red in the glass, the nose is delicately spicy, with dark berries, leading into a cedar bouquet, blackcurrants and some roasted notes. The body of this dry wine is round and deep, with spicy notes lingering on the long finish.Please decant this French red wine at least one hour before drinking! Of course, it can also be aged in the cellar for several years. It is a wonderful accompaniment to poultry dishes, game and mature cheeses.The ratings speak for themselves: James Suckling: 92-93, Neal Martin 89-91, Robert Parker says it is the best Sirène de Giscours ever.

Der Le B par Maucaillou 2020 ist der Bordeaux Supérieur vom berühmten Château Maucaillou aus der renommierten Appellation Moulis. Maucaillou heißt übersetzt so viel wie schlechte Steine, was aus dem Kontext der Zeit der Namensgebung des Weinguts darauf hindeutet, dass der Boden aufgrund der dortigen großen Kiesel nicht für eine normale Landwirtschaft taugte. Die Kehrseite der Medaille war aber, dass das Terroir ideal für den Weinbau ist und Maucaillou seither fantastische Rebsäfte produziert, die in großen Jahrgängen, wie 2020, richtige Trouvaillen sind.Le B spiegelt die Frucht seines großen Bruders, dem Grand Vin, wieder und ist ein absoluter gute Laune-Knaller. Selten hat uns ein junger Bordeaux-Wein - mit einem solchen Preis-Leistungsverhältnis - direkt aus der Flasche heraus mit seinem Charme und seiner vollen und frischen Frucht begeistert. Wir hatten fast den Eindruck, einen guten Kalifornier vor uns stehen zu haben, so opulent verführte uns das tiefe Himbeerbukett dieses Weins.Pascal und Magalie Dourthe, die Eigentümer von Château Maucaillou bezeichnen diesen Rebsaft, der zur vollen roten Frucht auch noch schöne Röstnoten, Mokka und Gewürznoten präsentiert, als den perfekten Einstieg in das Universum dieses Weinguts. Dem kann man nur zustimmen.

Le Serre Nuove is a remarkable blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The grapes are very concentrated, with a perfect balance between ripe tannins, fresh acidity and intense, ripe flavors.Wine lovers can expect a concentrated, fine and soft red wine of great aromatic intensity. Scents of ripe red fruits are accompanied by tobacco leaf notes and spices. On the palate impress the great maturity and quality of soft, dense and smooth tannins.Each grape variety and each vineyard parcel was vinified separately. The wine was aged around 15 months in barriques. After the first 12 months, the wines were merged to mature for a further 3 months in barriques. A six-month aging in the bottle stood at the end of the process. Le Serre Nuove offers a remarkable aging potential, but is also already a pleasure.The winery "Tenuta dell'Ornellaia" was founded in 1981 by Marchese Lodovico Antinori – with the support of the legendary winemaker André Tchelistcheff. In the wine-world Tenuta dell'Ornellaia – situated in the Province of Livorno in Tuscany – fastly achieved an outstanding, almost legendary reputation, thanks to its exquisite creations.

Les Pagodes de Cos is the second wine from the renowned Château Cos d'Estournel in Saint-Estèphe, which, together with Château Montrose, has been at the top of the appellation for years. The grapes for "The Pagodas" from Cos - and the château, which resembles an Indian temple, really does have some - come from selected plots on the estate and give the wine its own personality. This is somewhat more accessible and perhaps a little less complex than the Grand Vin, but it is a pleasure to drink with its velvety texture, freshness and beautiful fruit.54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot give the wine its attractive, mineral and rather soft character.
